Help KIN support Afghan refugee families

Kirkland Interfaith Network has learned of two Afghan families who were resettled in Kirkland after evacuation from the Kabul airport in September.  Since that time, St. John Vianney Catholic Church has played an important part in organizing material support as well as a team of dedicated volunteers to help these families. The journey to a new life is long and difficult, and one significant obstacle is finding and funding affordable housing for the families beginning on August 1. KIN is using some of our general funds to get this started, by matching donations (up to a total of $3000) that are made to KIN by members of our congregations and others in the community. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please make a donation at https://www.kirklandinterfaith.net/donate and note “Afghan refugee support.” Funds raised that are so designated will be used exclusively to support Afghan refugees, which may include others beyond these two initial families. KIN is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and qualifies for most employer matching gift programs. Please share this post with others!
